Support the JUZ and Become a Member of the Support Association!
There are two ways to support us:
- Make a one-time donation (a donation receipt can be provided upon request).
- Become a long-term supporting member (the contribution amount depends on your income; payment can be made by bank transfer or direct debit).

The Support Association
The support association works to provide financial assistance to the “Friedrich Dürr” Self-Managed Youth Center (JUZ) in Mannheim.
The association was founded in 2006 when cuts to municipal funding threatened the continuation of several JUZ projects, while others could not be realized at all due to financial constraints.
The idea is that current and former JUZ participants, as well as supporters and sympathizers, can help sustain the JUZ through donations and membership contributions.
Ongoing and Planned Projects
Since then, the financial situation of the JUZ has improved somewhat, allowing the support association to focus on supporting ongoing and future projects.
Examples include:
- Free language courses for refugees
- The bicycle workshop
- Other educational and social initiatives
Because the association can allocate funds flexibly, it is also able to respond quickly to changing needs.
For example, donations help provide:
- Reduced admission prices
- Reduced drink prices
- Partially free meals for people with little or no financial means
In recent years, this support has primarily benefited refugees.
How Funds Are Used
Decisions regarding the allocation and use of funds are made within the framework of the JUZ’s self-management structure.
The Financial General Assembly (Finanz-VV), held three times per year, determines how the funds will be distributed.
Accordingly, the support association also holds three meetings per year, to which all members are invited.
These meetings decide:
- The amount of money made available to the Financial General Assembly
- The activities of the support association
Examples of association activities include:
- Summer festivals
- End-of-year celebrations
- Barbecues
- Information booths at the Max-Joseph-Straße Festival
- Other association events
Support the JUZ
If you would like to support meaningful projects at the JUZ Mannheim, or if you simply appreciate the idea of a self-managed youth center but have little time to participate actively, the support association would be grateful for your interest and support.
